I've been doing a lot of reshoots lately. As I complete each new shot and add it to the time line I am becoming increasingly critical of the film's overall pacing and presentation. Recently, on several occasion, I have replaced shots that were completed and approved as far back as January. I have come to trust my instincts and if I have second thoughts about a shot then now is the time to address it because there will not be another opportunity. What needs to be remembered when facing the prospect of reshooting a perfectly good 200 frame shot is that sometimes, a slight change in framing and performance could mean the difference between a good scene and a great scene.
